The Need
Growing up in the digital era can be complex, especially for Muslim children balancing global digital culture with preserving Islamic identity. Hakma’s founders envisioned a family-friendly platform that provides rich audio-visual content — books, videos, games — with Islamic values at the core, while keeping content fun and engaging.
The Solution
We developed a tablet and mobile app for iOS and Android offering books, videos, games, and a structured learning path with gamified elements such as ratings, badges, and digital gifts. Parental controls and monitoring ensure safe youth engagement. A collaborative publishing backend supports workflow management for content creation, aggregation, editing, and moderation, enabling continuous content expansion.
With a REST API–driven modular architecture, the platform supports extensibility for future apps, games, and school-focused e-learning solutions. It also integrates with external systems like Amazon for publishing pipelines, ensuring scalability and interoperability as Hakma’s ecosystem grows.
The Challenge
Hakma set out to solve a dual problem: making digital learning fun for children while preserving Islamic values. To achieve this, the platform needed to be more than just a content library — it had to be a scalable publishing ecosystem with high technical demands:
