A leading global information provider sought to modernize trade compliance by automating product classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and integrating regulatory data from multiple US agencies. Government Agencies (PGAs), and deliver automated regulatory tracking and compliance guidance.

The Solution
We co built the Global Trade Analyzer with Thomson Reuters, creating a unified platform for HTS classification and regulatory compliance used by US importers and exporters. The system provides a complete HTS database of more than 17,000 tariff classifications with search features for descriptions, codes, and keywords, supported by intelligent suggestions for users unfamiliar with technical terminology. Users can review duty rates, historical rate changes, and special program applicability, and benefit from authoritative co branding with Thomson Reuters that reinforces trust and industry acceptance.
The platform integrates regulatory data from US Partner Government Agencies to provide automated compliance guidance, jurisdiction identification, required forms, and alerts for regulatory changes. The backend architecture, built using .NET and SQL Server, supports complex search queries, version controlled datasets, and continuous synchronization with updated government data. With more than 150,000 import classifications processed and access to high value regulatory documents, the platform delivers substantial operational and compliance benefits to trade professionals.
