The Need

The Solution
We built a digital sanitation management system that transforms how OXFAM oversees fecal sludge operations across UNHCR refugee camps. The platform centralizes data for 15,000+ latrines, tracks servicing history, monitors real-time conditions, and schedules maintenance so field teams always know which facilities require action. This eliminates both missed latrines and unnecessary servicing, shifting operations from manual, reactive management to structured, data-driven oversight.
A custom spatial AI model predicts desludging needs using historical records, mobile data, population density, and seasonal patterns—allowing OXFAM to plan maintenance proactively and optimize routes for desludging teams. A Flutter-based Android app supports offline field reporting with photos and task updates, while a Laravel/MySQL web dashboard provides managers real-time coverage views, alerts, performance metrics, and donor-ready reports. The system now supports sanitation services for over 10,000 camp residents, improving public health and operational efficiency.
