The British Red Cross

See how Kaz Software built a digital platform empowering real-time emergency response and volunteer coordination across urban disaster zones.

In Dhaka’s dense urban areas, emergency response often depends on how fast trained volunteers can act. The British Red Cross needed a mobile-first solution that could connect responders, validate alerts, and deliver real-time coordination—turning chaotic manual calls into structured, lifesaving action.

The Need

The British Red Cross required an integrated emergency coordination system connecting volunteers, FSCD, and Red Cross teams

through real-time alerts and geospatial intelligence.

Enable volunteers to report incidents with instant GPS tagging

Validate emergencies through FSCD for authenticity

Provide GIS-powered maps for resource visibility and navigation

Digitize volunteer deployment and track responses end-to-end

The Solution

We built a mobile-first emergency response platform that enables the British Red Cross to coordinate volunteer activity across Dhaka with real-time accuracy. Volunteers can instantly report incidents with GPS, forms, or photos, while all submissions are validated with FSCD to prevent false or duplicate alerts. Once confirmed, the system delivers push notifications with incident details, severity, and location, enabling rapid mobilization within minutes instead of hours. GIS-powered maps display live incident locations, hazards, resource availability, volunteer positions, and optimal routing—giving responders and commanders situational awareness far beyond manual coordination methods.
The end-to-end platform includes a native Android app, an ASP.NET Core backend, AWS-hosted APIs, an RDS MySQL database, and a secure web admin panel for managing incidents, volunteers, and resources. Automated deployment logic identifies suitable responders based on proximity, skills, and availability, tracks acceptances and arrival times, and assembles teams for complex emergencies. This digitized workflow has delivered measurable impact, enabling 100% FSCD-validated alerts and supporting 10,000+ real-time incident notifications across Dhaka’s urban zones.

The Challenge

The system needed to remain functional during disasters—when power, connectivity, and infrastructure are at their weakest. Integrating FSCD validation, ensuring reliable GIS data, and designing an intuitive UI for volunteers under stress demanded deep UX and engineering insight.

The Partnership

Our partnership with the British Red Cross was grounded in empathy and innovation. Together, we worked with field responders and FSCD teams to design a system that performs under real-world pressure.
The platform—built on Android, ASP.NET Core, AWS, RDS MySQL, and GIS mapping tools—digitized volunteer coordination, incident validation, and response tracking into one connected ecosystem.
