UNICEF Bangladesh – Joint Response Project
See how Kaz Software built an education management platform empowering UNICEF to serve 35,000+ adolescents across 4,590+ institutions in Cox’s Bazar.
Coordinating education across thousands of learning centers in a humanitarian setting requires more than data collection—it needs intelligence, structure, and empathy. UNICEF needed a powerful MIS to unify student records, visualize education networks, and measure progress for tens of thousands of displaced adolescents.
The Need
UNICEF required a comprehensive Education Management Information System (EMIS) for the Joint Response Project (JRP) to
manage education delivery in Cox’s Bazar refugee settlements.
• Centralize student and institution data in one platform
• Integrate GIS for mapping service locations and coverage
• Enable offline mobile data collection via field teams
• Support longitudinal analysis of educational progress and outcomes
The Solution
We built a comprehensive Education Management Information System that serves as the data backbone for UNICEF’s Joint Response Project, centralizing records for 35,000+ adolescents and 4,590+ learning institutions across the refugee response. The platform maintains detailed beneficiary profiles, institution data, and GIS-linked information to support geographic planning and service delivery. Flexible tools for form design, survey scheduling, mobile data collection, sampling, and staging allow teams to gather high-quality field data even in low-connectivity environments, supporting evidence-based program management and donor reporting.
Historical data storage and search enable longitudinal analysis of enrollment, attendance, and outcomes, while GIS maps visualize beneficiary distribution, institutional coverage, and service gaps across Cox’s Bazar. A real-time management dashboard provides progress tracking, KPIs, and automated reporting for UNICEF and implementing partners. This unified platform delivers the operational visibility required to manage one of the world’s largest humanitarian education programs at scale.
The Challenge
Designing an education MIS for one of the world’s largest refugee settlements meant balancing scale, field realities, and humanitarian integrity—all while keeping the system reliable under challenging conditions.

The Partnership
Our partnership with UNICEF was anchored in field understanding and humanitarian purpose.
Working alongside their education teams in Cox’s Bazar, we designed a system tailored to real-world conditions—offline data collection, multilingual interfaces, GIS mapping, and historical analytics.
Built with ASP.NET, MS SQL Server, Angular, and Flutter, the platform integrates data from field surveys to dashboards, providing UNICEF, partners, and donors with real-time insights into education coverage, performance, and impact across thousands of institutions.
