UNICEF Bangladesh – Alternative Learning Programme

See how Kaz Software built a real-time monitoring system managing education for 25,000+ marginalized youth across Bangladesh.

Tracking learning progress across thousands of marginalized adolescents requires real-time data visibility and resilience. UNICEF needed a dynamic system to centralize participant data, track outcomes, and empower decision-making—even in rural areas with limited connectivity.

The Need

UNICEF required a real-time monitoring platform for its Alternative Learning Programme (ALP), connecting urban and rural learning

centers across Bangladesh.

Centralize participant records for 25,000+ adolescents

Enable offline data collection for rural field teams

Track progress across training, assessment, and employment outcomes

Provide role-based dashboards for multi-tier program management

The Solution

We built a real-time monitoring system for UNICEF’s Alternative Learning Programme that centralizes participant data and tracks each adolescent’s training journey, assessments, and employment outcomes. The platform maintains detailed profiles for 25,000+ youth, enabling program managers to understand individual progress and analyze cohort-wide trends. A mobile, offline-capable field app allows trainers to record attendance, assessments, and session data in rural areas with poor connectivity, syncing automatically when online—ensuring uninterrupted visibility across all learning locations.
Role-specific dashboards provide tailored insights for trainers, implementers, community centers, and UNICEF leadership, delivering both local operational views and national-level performance data. The system’s modular, cloud-ready architecture is built to scale as UNICEF expands the ALP program to 100,000+ adolescents, supporting continuous growth in participants, centers, and program complexity without performance loss. The platform already monitors 25,000+ marginalized youth and is fully equipped for nationwide expansion.

The Challenge

Delivering real-time program visibility across thousands of learners meant addressing infrastructure, scale, and human usability—simultaneously.

The Partnership

Our collaboration with UNICEF focused on connecting digital precision with educational equity.
Through field research in urban and rural training centers, we designed an offline-first system with intuitive interfaces and dynamic dashboards tailored for trainers, center managers, and program leaders.
Built with Vue.js, Laravel, and MariaDB, the platform synchronizes field data to national dashboards, delivering actionable insights across all program levels and supporting scale-up to 100,000+ target users.
